Conquering Emotions One Playlist at a Time: “Unwritten”

Every person has their own story, their own path in life. And many times throughout our lives we may question the path we are on, wondering what direction to take and what our future may hold. We may also question our past decisions and experiences that have been on our path thus far. Your past is part of your story, and while you can not change it (not saying that you would want to), you can learn from it and move forward. Ask yourself, am I happy with the direction of my path, or am I feeling it may need to take a turn? Each of us is the only person that can make a change in our own lives. We are in charge of creating our own story. The tricky part is continuing with our own storyline when something throws us off track. Unexpected things happen, and each of us has the power to decide how it will play a role in our lives.

Take charge of your life. Take the direction that will lead you to a place you want to be. People more often regret the things they didn’t do rather than the things they did. With change comes the unknown, and the unknown can be scary and unsettling. But I’ve come to learn that the only thing consistent in life is change. Though it may be difficult, sometimes we need to embrace the change rather than fear it because it may be exactly what your story needed.

Lyrics

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, yeah, yeah
