The goals of couples counseling:
- Strengthening relationships
- Improving communication
- Setting common goals
- Increasing intimacy
- Increasing conflict resolution skills and tools
- Understanding each others needs
Premarital counseling is offered to help couples prepare for all aspects of married life. The goal of premarital counseling is to teach partners to build upon their strengths as a couple, as well as prepare for the potential challenges of marriage, in order to have a strong, healthy, and satisfying relationship. Our pre-marital counselors are trained in the Prepare-Enrich pre-marital counseling program. This program is an empirically based, widely-used pre-marital counseling assessment.
Marriage counseling can be long-term or short-term and can address conflict, infidelity, communication issues, sexual desire differences, intimacy issues, feelings of growing apart, and much more.
Separation counseling follows the decision of one or both partners to end a relationship. The goal of separation counseling is to help a couple end a relationship as amicably as possible, protecting the best interest of all members of the family in the process. Separation and divorce counseling also strives to help with issues related to co-parenting, as well as the issues of creating and establishing new family structures.
