Let’s Get to Know Each Other

Hi, I’m Brandy. I’m a practicum student counselor, and I’m honored to grow alongside clients as I transition into this role. I’ve always been drawn to deeper relationships and meaningful conversations — the kind where people feel safe enough to take off the mask and simply be human. Over time, I began to recognize how deeply isolation, shame, trauma, and feeling unseen can shape a person’s life. I also witnessed how healing can begin when someone feels genuinely heard, accepted, and supported without judgment. That became the foundation for my path into counseling.

My training has provided me with tools to help individuals untangle painful experiences, reconnect with themselves and move toward healing. I show up with compassion, deep empathy, warmth, and a sense of humor, while also creating space for honesty, growth, and resilience.

Working alongside orphanages, caregivers, and leadership communities in Africa further deepened both my understanding of trauma and my belief in human resilience. These experiences strengthened my passion for supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, grief, shame, abuse, difficult transitions, emotional overwhelm, church hurt, and spiritual struggles.

Outside the counseling room, I love travel, the outdoors, exercise, classic movies, spending time with my children, and embracing life on our Texas ranch.

What Clients Can Expect

When you meet with me, you can expect a calm, compassionate, and supportive environment where you are free to show up exactly as you are while also feeling encouraged to grow into the healthiest and most authentic version of yourself. I believe therapy should feel relational, honest, and safe enough for meaningful conversations and genuine healing. I am open to traditional talk therapy, art and play therapy etc.  My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling supported and strengthened.

Strengths as a Therapist

I believe healing happens within safe relationships. My goal is to create an environment where clients feel emotionally safe, respected, and understood without judgment. I value authenticity in the counseling relationship and strive to meet each person with empathy, curiosity, and care.

I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking support through a difficult season of life and are willing to trust the therapeutic process, even when healing feels challenging. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning counseling. Sometimes the bravest step is simply allowing yourself to receive support.

Ideal Client

I especially connect with individuals navigating complex trauma, grief, shame, abuse recovery, anxiety, church hurt, spiritual struggles, life transitions, identity challenges, disappointment, and feelings of being emotionally “stuck.” I enjoy working with children, teens, women, adolescent boys, and men, and I’m passionate about helping clients move toward greater resilience, confidence, healing, and empowerment.

Treatment Approaches

My counseling approach is trauma-informed, relational, and integrative. I draw from several therapeutic approaches including Family Systems, Jungian, Gestalt, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic-based approaches, breathwork, EMDR-informed interventions, and expressive therapies such as art in therapy.

I believe healing involves caring for the mind, body, and spirit as a whole person. When desired or requested, I can also incorporate faith-based and biblical support into the counseling process. Every person carries unique experiences and strengths, and I strive to tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs.

Above all, my hope is to create a space where people feel safe enough to process deeply, heal authentically, and reconnect with hope and purpose
